The film is about a disfigured musical genius called "The Phantom" (Gerard Butler) who lives within the deepest recess of the opera house.He lives in the watery labyrinths beneath the Opéra Populaire in Paris. He falls in love with a young singer named Christine Daaé (Emmy Rossum)and after nearly ten years of quiet obsession with her beauty and her delicate, celestial voice, he plots to place her at center stage.
